Unstuck

By Abigail Brown

MY REVIEW

Unstuck is a wonderful read. It combines a biography of a woman with dystonia and a different kind of Bible/personal study all in one. This is a very personal journey of the author’s struggle with her doubts and negativity surrounding her chronic illness.

I have generalized genetic dystonia so I can really relate, but I would recommend this book to anyone who struggles with a Chronic illness and the depression, anxiety, and other issues that come along with the illness.
*it has questions to ponder and answer at the end of each chapter
*It uses a couple of versions of the Bible. I tend to just look the references up myself in the KJV. It’s what I always use and am familiar with and love.

  • It has very deep questions to ask of the reader, a place to write your answer in the book, and is incredibly thought provoking.
I do definitely recommend it for those who struggle with the negative thoughts that come with being chronically ill. I was given this as a gift, and I must say that it is a fantastic one. I plan on doing the same.

Yours, Till Heaven

Ray Rhodes Jr.

I fly through fiction, but I like to savor non fiction. I spent far more time on this book than most. What I loved most is how they chose to labor together for Christ…each giving everything of themselves.

I enjoyed seeing the quotes from one spouse to another all combined into one book. If you are a voracious reader of Spurgeon then some of this may not be new. However, having two sides of a love story told in their own words is precious. A combination of letters, books, and friends quotes combine to give a good example of what a Godly marriage should be. Neither Charles nor Susie were perfect, and they both try to name and overcome their weaknesses together. They both suffered through health issues, but they encouraged each other as they walked this journey with the Lord. Their time apart was difficult, yet it strengthened them both. I really enjoyed the realistic approach of this book.

I would really recommend this book as a wedding gift, anniversary gift, or a gift for someone who enjoys Spurgeon.

I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
